Are the terrorists winning after all? Nonesuch will release a remastered version of Brian Eno and David Byrne's seminal 1981 album 'My Life in the Bush of Ghosts', that omits the song 'Qu'ran', which featured samples of Algerian singers chanting the Koran.
Turns out the Islamic Council of Great Britain had approached the record company with a complaint about the use of the "found" material already a while ago.On his own website Brian Eno explains: The track Qu'ran was left off the UK CD over concerns about its religous implications - the track includes a recording of a reading of the Koran and it may be considered insulting to some followers of the Koran.

perhaps b/c i have the orig, i've not paid too much attention to the reissue and did not realize (till now) that Qu'ran had been left off.
Bush of Ghosts was such a groundbreaking, ahead of its time release in soooo many ways. Altough it's a shame that Qu'ran was (perhaps understandably) left off, "Regiment" (what a bass line) and "Moonlight in Glory" are my absolute favorites from this chock-full of favorites album.
